Ibrahimpatnam BDL unit by 2015

                      Ibrahimpatnam BDL unit by 2015

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) too joined the list of organisations seeking land in neighbouring Ranga Reddy (RR) district. The public sector undertaking (PSU) has sought 540 acres for its expansion plans.

While the BDL sought 540 acres adjacent to National Security Guard (NSG) land at Seriguda village, the district administration is willing to give 300 acres on payment of land compensation. Though it is government land, it has been assigned to landless poor some decades ago.

BDL has reportedly deposited Rs 20 crore with the RR district administration towards payment of compensation. The officials have begun the process of identifying assignees.

"A report has been sent to the revenue department on allotment of land in Ibrahimpatnam mandal," Ranga Reddy district joint collector M Jagan Mohan told TOI.

If the state government agrees to allot land, a part of the compensation would be paid to the assignees who have been enjoying cultivation rights over the land for the past few decades.

Already, several central government agencies and defence departments sought land in Ibrahimpatnam mandal and some agencies have even agreed to pay compensation if land is allotted to them.

The RR district administration has agreed to give 600 acres land in survey no 58 of Ibrahimpatnam Bagath village to NSG to set up its regional centre. The NSG authorities agreed to pay Rs six lakh per acre for the octpus land and deposited Rs 26 crore to acquire land.

After NSG, Octopus, the anti-terrorist force of Andhra Pradesh, had sought 570 acres land at Ibrahimpatnam Khalsa village for setting up its commando training centre. However, the district officials said land would be given only on payment of compensation. Octopus officials requested the home department to release the amount for getting the required land.

Later, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) requested the revenue authorities to allot 50 acres close to NSG to raise a CRPF Mahila Battalion and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority sought 1,000 acre land for its future projects in the prime land at Ibrahimpatnam.

The HMDA sought about 1,000 acres land at Ibrahimpatnam Bagat village. Another government corporation, AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), wrote a letter requesting the district administration to allot 1,832 acres land at Ibrahimpatnam Bagat village and another 456 acres land in survey no 1 and 2 of Ibrahimpatnam Khalsa village for development of industrial area and industrial park.

NPA eyes Ibrahimpatnam land for its shooting range Hyderabad: With a proposal to set up a firing range on the Nalgonda-Ranga Reddy district border put on hold due to opposition from locals and politicians, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (NPA) has changed its plans and sought 850 acres of land for the range in Ibrahimpatnam.

The National Police Academy has chosen the parcel of land for the proposed firing range as several national institutions and police organisations like Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Octopus had put forward their proposals to set up their centres in Ibrahimpatnam.

The Ranga Reddy district administration has reportedly agreed to allot land for the proposed firing range. Initially, NPA had sought land in Vikarabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district for its firing range. NPA officials had even visited Mandanpally and Peelaram villages in Vikarabad mandal. However, they zeroed in on Ibrahimpatnam as several police agencies are planning to set up centres there.

We have received a proposal from NPA for setting up a firing range. We will look into it, a senior RR district official told TOI.

The Union defence ministry had proposed to set up a firing range near Rachakonda hillocks, which lie on the borders of Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts. However, inhabitants of surrounding villages had opposed the range. The then Nalgonda MP Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy had even written a letter to the defence ministry to drop the proposal. With opposition from locals and politicians, NPA moved the proposed firing range to Ibrahimpatnam.

The Ranga Reddy district administration has already allotted 600 acres land in Ibrahimpatnam Bagath village to NSG to set up its regional centre. NSG authorities agreed to pay Rs 4.36 lakh per acre for the land.

Another police outfit, Octopus, the elite anti-terrorist force of Andhra Pradesh, sought 570 acres for setting up its commando training centre. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) too requested the district authorities to allot 50 acres close to NSG to raise a CRPF Mahila Battalion. Government agencies like Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority sought 1,000 acres of land for its future projects at Ibrahimpatnam Bagat village, while AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC ) wanted 2,200 acres land at Ibrahimpatnam Bagat and Khalsa village for development of industrial area and Industrial Park.

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) also sought 540 acres land for its expansion programme. It has even agreed to deposit Rs 20 crore with the administration to pay compensation to farmers who are likely to lose their land.
